Trak Racer Black Friday 2026. The purchase people regret.
Rigs are the least exciting purchase in sim racing and the one people regret most. A wheelbase you can swap. A cockpit that flexes under load is a problem you live with every session. Black Friday is the sensible time to fix that.

This is buying guidance, not a price feed. Figures marked 2025 are what each brand actually charged last Black Friday — I log them so a 2026 offer can be judged against something real. Some links here are affiliate links: if you buy through them I earn a commission at no extra cost to you, and it does not change what I recommend.

The Trak Racer range
Trak Racer covers more of the price ladder than almost anyone, which is why they're worth watching in November:
| Model | Approx. price | Who it's for |
|---|---|---|
| TR40S | $349 | Entry cockpit, fixed design |
| RS6 | $424 | Entry, more adjustment |
| TR80 MK5 | $450 | Mid-tier |
| TR160S V2 | $600 | 80/20 profile, upgradeable |
| TR8 Pro V2 | $699 | Stiffer, motion-ready |
| TR160 V5 | $730 | The volume choice for serious builds |
| Alpine TRX V2 | $999 | Top of the standard range |
| Spec packages | $9,388–21,999 | Complete turnkey builds with motion |
What to buy, and what to skip
The honest advice on rigs: buy profile if you can stretch to it. The TR160 and TR8 Pro use 80/20 aluminium profile, which means you can bolt on a monitor mount, a shifter, a fourth screen or a motion platform two years from now without replacing the frame. A fixed-design cockpit at $349 saves you $250 today and costs you the whole rig later.
The exception is if you genuinely know this is a casual setup that won't grow. Then the TR40S is fine and there's no point paying for flexibility you won't use.
Skip the entry rigs if you're running anything above about 12Nm. Flex under load ruins the feel of good hardware, and you'll blame the wheelbase.
What Trak Racer discounted in 2025
Cockpit discounts during the Black Friday period, with the deeper savings on complete packages rather than frames alone. Trak Racer doesn't publish a single headline percentage — the discounting is product by product.
What I expect in 2026
- Timing: Black Friday week.
- Depth: moderate on individual frames, better on bundles and complete builds.
- Watch the freight. Rigs are heavy. Shipping promotions during Black Friday can be worth more than the discount itself, particularly shipping to Canada.
Common questions
Which Trak Racer rig should I buy?
The TR160 V5 at around $730 is the volume choice for serious builds — 80/20 aluminium profile, so you can add motion, monitors or a shifter later. Below $500 you're buying a fixed design that limits future upgrades.
Is an aluminium profile rig worth the extra cost?
If you expect to change or add hardware over the next few years, yes. Profile lets you mount almost anything later; a fixed-design cockpit means replacing the whole frame.
Does Trak Racer discount on Black Friday?
Yes, product by product rather than as a single sitewide percentage. Complete packages typically carry better savings than individual frames.
