Where Thrustmaster still makes sense
Two situations, and they're both real:
Console compatibility. If you're on PlayStation or Xbox, the field narrows fast. Thrustmaster's licensing means their wheels work where a lot of PC-first brands don't, and that constraint matters more than a few Nm of torque.
The entry tier. The T598 brought direct drive to a price point where it competes with belt-driven gear. That's a meaningful shift, and at £390 on sale it's a legitimate first wheel.
Above that, I'd be honest: MOZA and Simagic offer more torque and better software for similar money on the PC side. The EVO Racing 32R and the Ferrari 488 GT3 rim are both decent pieces, but the ecosystem around them is thinner than the competition's.
