RENNSPORT adds four Hypercars and larger grids, with a multiplayer fix pending
The October 23 expansion brings new prototypes and PC SimHub support, but the developer has acknowledged online disconnections.

Four paid prototypes arrive alongside a wider game update
RENNSPORT’s paid Hypercar Expansion launched on October 23 with version 1.2.18. It adds four prototypes alongside a wider game update. Existing players receive platform changes without necessarily buying the new cars. Official source.
- Expansion cars
- Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR-LMH, Lamborghini SC63, Toyota TR010 Hybrid and Genesis GMR-001
- Custom Contests
- Up to 24 drivers and 60-minute races
- Important caveat
- The developer has acknowledged post-launch online disconnections

What changes for existing players?
The release notes describe class-wide physics and tyre work, alongside engine-power, aerodynamic, setup and balance changes. Custom Contests expand from 12 drivers and 30 minutes to 24 drivers and 60 minutes. Leaderboards gain more timing detail and tyre-compound filtering. Console work includes image-clarity changes and a Quick Setup peripheral-configuration fix. Official source.
Our view is that the longer contest format matters most to groups already organising regular races. Before committing to an hour-long event, use a shorter session to confirm that everyone has the correct content, working controls and a stable connection. The extra capacity is useful only when the group can complete the race reliably.
The online stability problem needs to be part of the story
On October 24, RENNSPORT acknowledged disconnections following the expansion, with some kicks also causing crashes. The team traced the issue to a client/server handshake error that incorrectly rejects a connection. It said a client-side hotfix is needed across PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S; a server restart alone cannot resolve it. Official source.
The developer said internal testing and Sony/Microsoft certification must come before deployment. Its statement did not give a confirmed release window. At the October 26 source check for this article, that notice remained the relevant published warning. The expansion should therefore not be presented as an uncomplicated online upgrade or as having this issue already fixed. Official source.

A few details to check before driving
The notes flag SC63 cockpit driving-line reflections: disable the line or use an external camera as workarounds. Headlight improvements remain further work. Neither should be described as a completed fix. Official source.
If you use telemetry, check the current official compatibility instructions before troubleshooting your display or dashboard. Keep wheel settings and graphics settings changes separate so you can tell which adjustment helped. After a physics update, a known car and track combination is a better reference than a completely unfamiliar prototype.
Should you buy the expansion now?
For a player specifically interested in these four cars, the pack adds a clear new attraction. For someone whose priority is dependable organised online racing, our recommendation is to watch the hotfix status first. That is a buying judgement based on the developer’s warning, rather than a claim that every player will encounter a disconnect.
Use the base-game update to revisit your existing garage before buying more content. Check your platform’s store listing for the current price and included entitlement, and confirm what your friends need to join the sessions you plan to host. A car list, patch note and promotional screenshot can explain the release; they cannot substitute for independent driving impressions.
