Heusinkveld’s One SC is a Simucube 3 wheel built around low weight

Heusinkveld has introduced the One SC, a steering wheel built specifically for Simucube 3 wheel bases. It is the second wheel on the company’s One platform, and the specification sheet is public while price and availability are not: the product page currently offers only a sign-up form for people who want to be told when it is available. Weight is the stated design goal

Heusinkveld lists the One SC at 1,060 grams including the integrated hub and excluding the quick release. The chassis uses a composite structure that the company says has strength comparable to aluminium at much lower weight. [1]

The argument Heusinkveld makes is about inertia rather than the number itself: less mass for the base to accelerate and reverse, particularly in the grips where mass has the greatest effect, so that fine force feedback detail is less masked. That is a reasonable engineering case, but it is the manufacturer’s case, and how much of it a driver notices will depend on the base and the settings.

Heusinkveld also describes the One SC as “the lightest steering wheel in the market with full Simucube 3 compatibility.” That is the company’s own claim and we have not verified it against competing products. [1]

Controls, display and telemetry

Despite the weight target, the wheel keeps the integrated 4.3-inch Simucube touchscreen, which doubles as a mouse or trackpad. Heusinkveld lists 12 physical buttons, two push rotaries and two seven-way multi-switches, with interchangeable button caps. [1]

Telemetry is handled by 23 configurable RGB LEDs, made up of an 11-LED RPM bar and illumination for all 12 pushbuttons, configured through Simucube Tuner. At the rear are magnetic two-way shifter paddles that both push and pull, plus dual-clutch paddles. All paddles use Hall sensors, and Heusinkveld says shifter paddle length can be adjusted without tools. [1]

Connection is where the Simucube 3 requirement sits

With a Simucube 3 quick release fitted, the One SC connects directly to a Simucube 3 base. Heusinkveld also lists an internal USB connector for passthrough or external routing, which it presents as an alternative route for drivers on other wheel bases. Mounting uses 50.8 mm and 70 mm bolt patterns. [1]

That is worth reading carefully. The direct, integrated connection — and the touchscreen functionality that depends on it — is tied to Simucube 3. The USB option is described as an alternative connection method, not as equivalent compatibility with other brands.
