At its original US$129 price, the SGP caught my attention as an affordable way to add a dedicated sequential shifter. I wanted to see whether the low price came with an enjoyable shift action and convincing build quality. It largely did, although a few details stopped it feeling like the most expensive options.
My verdict at a glance
What worked: Positive shift action, a substantial metal body, adjustable height and useful extra buttons.
What to consider: Loud clicks, slight play around neutral and mounting through the underside.
Review-unit caveat: The auxiliary lever felt light on my early sample; I did not retest a revised production unit.

A substantial body with useful adjustments
The metal construction made a good first impression. The body and main handle felt solid, with a level of finish I liked at this price.
The handle height was adjustable by about 65 mm in my original description; MOZA’s current specification lists 64 mm. That adjustment helped position the grip comfortably beside the rig.
The knob could be replaced with a compatible threaded alternative. MOZA specifies M12 × 1.5, so match the actual thread rather than assuming any aftermarket knob will fit.
Two illuminated push buttons on the body were useful for actions such as ignition or engine start. They had a familiar MOZA feel, and their lighting could be configured through Pit House.

The auxiliary lever was the weak point
The small lever behind the grip could be assigned to another in-game action. I used it as a quick reverse input.
It was a digital input, not a progressive analogue clutch paddle. Its presence adds an assignment, but it does not provide a second analogue axis.
On my review unit it felt too light and less substantial than the main shifter. It was the part that felt cheapest to me.
At the time, I understood that MOZA had addressed this for production units. I had not tested that revision, so I cannot present the reported change as a confirmed improvement from my own experience.

Mounting and connection
The underside had six mounting holes. I secured the shifter to my rig with two bolts and nuts; another cockpit may require a mounting plate or adapter.
I would have liked a side-mounting option. As with MOZA’s handbrake from that period, the underside mounting arrangement limited the ways I could position it.
The shifter could connect directly to the PC by USB or to a compatible MOZA wheelbase. My review concerned PC use, and I did not test it on a console.
Check the connection and mounting requirements for your exact setup before buying, particularly if you intend to use a desktop clamp or a base from another manufacturer.

A positive and adjustable shift action
The factory resistance suited my taste. Moving the lever required a useful amount of effort, followed by a satisfying drop in resistance as the shift registered.
The resistance could be adjusted through the mechanism. That let the action move towards a lighter or firmer feel without changing the whole shifter.
I liked the smooth return to centre. At the ends of the movement, I did not feel harsh impacts or the lever striking the housing.
The Hall-sensor design uses contactless input sensing. That is a design feature, rather than proof from this review of a particular service life.

Noise and movement around neutral
This was a loud shifter. I could hear its clicks even with headphones on, and someone nearby could hear them as well.
The noise did not bother me personally, but I would consider the room and the people sharing it. A satisfying mechanical click for the driver can still be intrusive elsewhere.
I also noticed a small amount of movement around neutral before the lever began a shift. It was especially noticeable when paying attention while changing from a downshift to an upshift.
That play did not spoil the driving experience for me. It was a small criticism, but it belongs alongside the praise for the otherwise positive action.
Would I recommend it?
The US$129 price discussed in the video was the January 2024 launch price. It is useful context for my value judgment, not a promise of today’s price.
For a solid, enjoyable sequential-shifting experience without spending heavily, I thought the SGP offered excellent value. The adjustable handle and extra controls made it a practical addition as well.
It would not be my answer to someone seeking the most refined or expensive mechanism regardless of cost. But if the priorities were satisfying shifts and sensible spending, it was easy to like.
I would check the mounting, expect audible clicks and keep the early auxiliary-lever caveat in mind. Those details made the recommendation more realistic without changing my positive overall impression.
